A seasoned HR leader with more than 30 years of CPG, Healthcare and Retail industry expertise, Janis Hoyt has held a number of HR leadership roles and is currently the CHRO for Primal Pets Group. Primal Pet Group is leading manufacture of raw and gently prepared foods, treat, chews and supplements for pets, committed to giving dog and cats better nutrition within the Pet industry.
Prior to this opportunity, Janis was Chief People Officer for the Honest Company in Los Angeles, Ca. Janis joined Honest in 2017 to help prepare the disruptive CPG start-up with a forward-facing Human Capital Strategy and executional excellence that would lead to an eventual IPO in May 2021. As the CPO Janis was instrumental in creating a people strategy that created a culture of diverse talent, workplace practices that enabled successful business results.
Prior to Honest, Janis was a Vice President of Human Resources for Blue Shield of California; her expertise in organizational development, executive coaching and talent transformation were instrumental in driving successful people and culture strategies across the BSC enterprise. Hoyt previously held leadership roles atClorox and Aetna; during her Clorox tenure she also held an international role as the Head of HR for Latin America and Europe where she was charged with integrating a global people talent and succession strategy.
Janis has worked closely with board members on executive compensation, CEO/ Leadership talent selection and organizational structure & governance. She played a key role in several mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, working with private equity to drive company performance and results.
Outside of the office Janis enjoys spending time with family and honors her heritage by giving back to the Native American community as CEO and founder of the Native American Bear Foundation, an organization whose mission is to assist Native American students pursuing educational opportunities.
