I’m a values-centered and heart-forward coach, facilitator and advisor.

I get energized by building awareness, consciousness, and clarity. When we know where to focus our time and energy, we can free ourselves up to do our best work, say no to the work that is no longer ours to do, have more fun, and avoid unnecessary stress.

With 20+ years of experience across early stage organizations as Chief People Officer I’m well positioned to advise strategically and pragmatically with startups to set strong foundations for team growth and performance as they scale.

My favorite way to engage with clients is in a beautiful retreat setting, away from the day-to-day. Witnessing leaders and teams do transformational work is one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve had in my career.

As a coach I intuitively see and connect unique lights in people to fulfill their potential. I also help folks cut through their bull$hit stories that no longer serve them. Whether I am perfecting a baking recipe in the kitchen or deep in research mode at work, I rely on data-driven methods while also letting my inquiring mind be explorative. Efficiency is my motivation, and I go above and beyond to understand my clients’ needs and deliver on time and on budget.  My mantra is “Let’s get things done in the best possible way!”

My practice as a coach and consultant is built around curiosity, liberation, and intellectual integrity. Understanding the systems we employ, the biases we hold, and the routines and rituals that keep us steady and hold us back - this is my quest. I am a seasoned HR leader with more than 30 years of CPG, Healthcare and Retail industry experience. I see myself as a Human Capital Strategist, Leadership Mentor, and Learning Evangelist.

I joined The Honest Company, whose mission is “to inspire everyone to love living consciously” as Chief People Officer in 2017. In this role, I was responsible for designing a forward-facing People & Culture Strategy to meet the needs of an evolving business, and this ultimately led to Honest’s successful IPO in May of 2021. 

Prior to Honest, I was Vice President of Human Resources for Blue Shield of California; where my expertise in organizational development, executive coaching, and talent transformation were instrumental in driving successful people and culture strategies across the BSC enterprise. I previously held a global leadership role at Clorox and a senior leadership role with Aetna.  

My leadership strengths include the core skills needed to prepare a start-up for the IPO journey:  Executive compensation; Talent selection; Executive coaching; Organizational structure & governance; Mergers & acquisitions; and, Creating a people strategy that structures and rewards with business results.  

A member of the Kiowa and Cherokee tribes, I honor my heritage by giving back to my community as CEO and founder of the Native American Bear Foundation, an organization whose mission is to inspire and assist Native American students pursuing educational opportunities.
